QuestionHello, Thank you for your time.
I am 42 yrs, I was on Yaz BC for 5 years, helped with missed periods and severe cramps that I had since I started cycle in teens. My doctor took me off Yaz 6 months ago, I then started bleeding heavy for weeks on end without the pills, passing blood clots. Doctor recently put me back on Yaz. I am now on my third pack, I skipped the last 4 pills in the pack 3 weeks ago, wanted to skip a period.... I have been bleeding for 3 weeks now. Not heavy , just won't stop.
Should I stay on the pill pattern i have started? Just keep taking them?
Is there a way to make me stop bleeding? Doctor told me to stop bleeding, take 3 pills x 3 days, 2 pills x 2days and get back on schedule. Is this dangerous?
AnswerDear Joelle,
What is going on with your condition now? I'm concerned about you. I have heard many reports of extensive bleeding lately and that can be dangerous. I don't agree necessarily with taking the pills that way to get back on schedule.
I really recommend going off the pill and if you need to be on birth control, pick some kind that is not hormonal. Maybe get a 2nd opinion on the bleeding. Please email me at CHERYL51@aol.com and let me know how you are doing.
Sincerely,
Diane Cheryl
