Post-Abortion Bleeding & Tissue Passage: What to Expect
QuestionI had an abortion early March I bled for nearly a month I got my second period since. I have been bleeding on and off for 3 weeks now and yesterday morning I passed a half dollar sized bloody fleshy tissue which gave me a tremendous amount of cramps and after I passed it I've been bleeding bright red blood that gushes everytime I get up or sit on the toliet. I took concerned I went to the same place I had the abortion only to be examned by a GYN that didn't know what the tissue was and told me to come back and see the Dr. whome which preformed my abortion. He is the only one that can help me and if I didn't come in today he was going on Vacation. I don't have a flex schedule like that I have a toddler, no car and not to mention $$$. And I had to pay for the Dr. visit last night. And I had to bring someone to drive me home just "in case" the Dr. left something in the Cervix. I'm frustrated and drained. Should I just go to the Emergency room and have the resident GYN look at it?
AnswerHi Anna,
I am sorry to hear of what you are going through. Do you have a regular physician to go to? If not, I would urge you to find somewhere to get this checked out. Bleeding could be very serious and you need to seek medical help. If you have insurance, there shouldn't be a problem. If not, I would urge you to find a medical clinic or somewhere where they can check this out. I will be praying for you and please let me know what happens. Email me at DCHERYL51@yahoo.com and write soon. You might try calling 1-800-395-HELP or go to http://www.optionline.org to ask them for a recommendation of where to go. They are a place to help women in pregnancy situations but they might be able to refer you to a doctor or somewhere if you tell them your situation. If you don't live in U.S. then go to http://www.heartbeatinternational.org/worldwide_directory.asp and find a location near you.
Sincerely,
Diane Cheryl
