Please know that I am not a doctor. I am simply a person who has done a lot of research, and talked to a lot of women. I have been researching abortion for nearly 40 years.
I am assuming that you mean to ask about abortion pills. If you mean to ask about a different pill, please let me know. But for purposes of answering your questions, I will assume you mean a pill to cause abortion.
I assume you mean to ask if the pill is safe. No, it is not.
As for the side effects, there are three major complications that can occur. One is prolonged heavy bleeding. This is debilitating and potentially life-threatening. I get questions from women here constantly because they are bleeding so heavily, and they're scared. This can go on for weeks. Another is death by rupture of the uterus. And still another is death by toxic shock syndrome. These pills haven't been used long enough to know the full extent of the harm for women in general. One of the pills used is used contrary to manufacturer's instructions. It is specifically NOT to be used by a pregnant woman, because it can kill her.
If you are wanting to get this pill for your girlfriend to use, don't. You don't have the right to ask her to take that kind of risk. It is your responsibility to protect her. Nor should she try any other method of abortion. All methods are dangerous and can kill her or leave her seriously disabled (paralyzed or unable to communicate). The complications and deaths that are occurring are being swept under the rug, but the cost to women is very high. Also, any kind of abortion heightens a woman's chances of dying a violent death in the year following abortion (from suicide, for example, or drug abuse) and greatly increases the chances she will have a disabled child in the future or develop a particularly deadly form of breast cancer. And from surgical abortion, death can also occur very quickly. Nearly every abortionist has killed several women. Since deaths are reported as from the complication rather than the abortion itself, the statistics don't begin to show the carnage. But the complication would never have occurred if the woman hadn't had an abortion in the first place.
