Vaginal Blockage After Abortion: Causes & Concerns

Question
Hello dear, i have had two abortions before and now am experiencing blockage in my vagina any time i insert my finger. What might be the cause is there a possibility for the sperm to enter my womb. Could it be a closed cervix or what?

Answer
Hello, Drammeh,

Nobody is going to be able to tell you over the internet what a blockage in your vagina is. Normally, a woman's cervix goes into a woman's vagina like a fat finger. During the time of fertility, it gets soft and isn't as long. Having something in your vagina that blocks your finger won't stop sperm from entering your womb. I gather that this is the first time you explored your cervix. You should not stick a finger in there unless your finger is clean. If you still have questions about all of this, please see a doctor. If you are not ready to accept pregnancy, you shouldn't be having sex.

Your prior abortions can cause you problems in the future. You need to work on safeguarding your health. Because of the increased risk of breast cancer, you should make sure the levels of Vitamin D3 in your blood are normal. A supplement of 5000IU a day may help. You will need to have your blood tested to make sure you don't get too much. Most people are deficient in Vitamin D. If you have very dark skin, or if you aren't in the sun much, you are more likely to have a deficiency. You should try to have a regular thermogram to make sure you aren't developing breast cancer. You can also develop auto-immune diseases such as lupus and rheumatoid arthritis. I am unaware of a way to prevent this. If you had surgical abortions, you are at risk of harming your future children. You must get good prenatal care, and the doctor needs to know about your abortions. He may need to do a procedure called cerclage, that will fasten your cervix shut until time for you to give birth. You are also at increased risk for miscarriage, tubal pregnancy (which requires immediate surgery to save your life), or complications at birth. A woman usually first learns she has a tubal pregnancy because she experiences pain in early pregnancy. So if you become pregnant and then experience pain, see a doctor immediately.

Please take care, and don't take any more chances with your life. Abortion is dangerous and can kill you. Stay safe!
