Misoprostol and Bleeding After Abortion: A Personal Experience
Questioni had a pregnancy of about 2 weeks and opted for an abortion.i took Mifepristone on 28 feb and experienced low pain with no bleeding at all.after 36 hrs had 4 tablets of misoprostol orally and bleeding started after 7 hrs but it was very less a few drops and contained some thick stuff brownish in color after that bleeding was over then i took 2 tablets of misoprostol again at 48 hrs this time experienced quite heavy bleeding than the previous one but it was again very less.it was even less than what i experience in my periods some thick reddish stuff is also passing with it. now i'm not sure is this normal or not because i am bleeding very less.should i take misoprostol again or is there any way to check success of abortion please suggest i am really about this.
AnswerIf you are just two weeks, then this is an early pregnancy. There can be less bleeding. To be sure, you can take the rest of the Misoprostol. I suggest you place two tablets under your tongue and let them dissolve slowly under your tongue. This allows a slow release of the medication. Swallowing the tablets is less effective. After this you should have more bleeding. This should insure that the process is complete.
