Paraffin Dip Safety & Alternatives: Addressing Pathogen Concerns
QuestionHello,
I have my clients wash their hands and then dip thier hands in the paraffin dip . They throw away the parrafin after they are done. I am concerned about possible pathogens I could harbor in the paraffin such as staph ect that may live on the skin.
is their another ways to let them enjoy the parraffin dip?
I have tried painting it on with a brush but it dries on the brush before I get it on their skin. any suggestions? thanks so much.

AnswerLeesa,
Hi. I am not an expert on the subject of paraffin dips, unfortunately. My suggestion would be to contact either the product manufacturer, etc or consult with a spa owner...there is a major spa group (various spas around the world...(I guess like the AMTA for Massage Therapists) that might give you some answers, just do a search for one. Other than that, I would think that as long as the person using the paraffin has no scratches or wounds, the paraffin is consistantly heated and not re-used and they are disinfecting their hands prior to use, that it would be what was needed. Oh, also, nail salons use paraffin sometimes--perhaps you could inquire of one of them. Sorry I can't be of more assistance to you. Good luck with your search.
