Using Regular Polish & Removing Gel Manicures: A Guide

Is it possible to use regular colored nail polish on my gel nails and, if so, how do I remove it?  Would nail polish remover harm my gel manicure?

Yes it is possible Rhea! Removing the polish with polish-remover is fine. In order for Gels to be removed you have to file them off unlike Acrylic in which you soak off.

Also there is such a thing as "Colored Gel Polish." Ask your technician about it!

Be aware of a product called Methyl-Methacrylate(MMA). It has been deemed hazardous by the FDA, and is no longer allowed in acrylics, although some Non Standard Salons(NSS) still do because its cheaper. Learn the signs of MMA use in NSS. Protect the public and yourself and report them to your State Board of Cosmetologists.
