How Often Can You Get Acrylic or Gel Nails? | Nail Health & Breaks

I have had my nails done, over and over, fill after fill, with no breaks in between since March.  I was wondering if this is bad for my nails and if I need to take a break at some point.  Surely you can't have fake nails continuously for years?  I just need to know if I have to give them a break some time.

hi rachel, i have had my nail extensions on continually for 15 years.  As long as you are going to a well trained nail technician that has a good standard of hygiene and does not use electric drills your nails will be fine.  It is just like colouring your hair, once the nail has left the cuticle area it is dead.  Once u finally remove the nails you natural nail will replace itself within 3 to 6 months.  So I wouldnt worry to much.  Please do not hesitate to email me for futher questions.
