Nail Technician Certification: A Guide to Training & Costs

I was looking at learning how to do nails. I've always loved nail art, and frequently do my own acrylics.

I'd like to get certified and learn more about manicures and fake nail art so I can do it as a side hobby and maybe earn a little extra income...

The junior college where I live has a cosmetology class where you can learn nails specifically. It's 1 semester, 400 hours total, but it's $2,000. That's an extremely high price tag for a one semester course... and it's listed as self pay as in, you can not get financial aide for this course.

Is there any other way to become certified in acrylic nails, manicures and such without a $2,000 price tag? or do you have to go through an accredited college course?

I don't know the state you are in but I am assuming that your state licenses? If this is the case you will need to pay to get the course to get certified. Sorry there is no other way to be acredited. I would call your state to see if your state licenses if not then I would check into a private person to teach you.
