Mastering Fade Cuts with the Oster 76 Classic: A Beginner's Guide

Question
Question
I currently have the Andis Fade Masters and headline trimmers. I cut my son's hair. I thought buying the Oster 76 classic would take my cutting to a new level. I also got the guards and blades (1A, 0A, 00000, 0000, 000). I can cut fades easily with the Andis but my first time with the Oster I made a "cow lick" on the top of their heads. I tried to use the blades to get wave length hair. My blend was also not so clear. My question. How and why should I use the Oster 76 classics?

help!

Answer
No clipper that you get will make your skills better! but with the classics and some other clippers they make your cutting faster working in a barbershop also they are good for fades because you can work in steps with the blades if I were you since I already have the classics I would invest in blades 1, 1 1/2, and a 2 every thing else you have is fine! I must admit with the classics they can be hard but if you take your time and learn them it is easy I do most of my cuts with my classics. even straight hair. most professional barbers don't do that :)

-----FOLLOW UP------

When I begin my fading with the Oster Classic 76 do I use "single" upward strokes or "downward" strokes to create my blend. I currently use several upward strokes with the Andis Fade Masters (works well for me with brush). Do you havea any advise for the Osters?

Help again.

Answer
Do the same with the 76 classics or any other clippers I use several fast strokes against the grain thats upward strokes on short hair it helps get hair that you may miss doing single strokes trust me you will see the difference when you start using the 76 classics!
