Neutral Eye Makeup Tutorial – 2 Minute Neutral Eyes

Things you’ll need:

  • Maybelline Eye Studio Cream Shadows in No. 25 or any neutral eye shadow palette
  • Kajal or eyeliner
  • Mascara or false lashes (if you prefer)

That’s it! These three things and will give you an eye makeup that will compliment almost every outfit.

Let’s see how to do it now, shall we?

  • Take some highlighter colour (the cream shadows in neutral color) on your finger and gently rub it underneath your brows on the brow bone. This will get rid of any discoloration and add a healthy glow.
  • Next take the middle taupe colour and give a wash of it all over your lids and blend properly. Adding colors always brightens up the face. This way, you’ll look more awake and lovely.
  • After the second step, take the last colour and just dab it on the upper lash line on the outer corner of your eye. Now move it a bit upwards and blend it a bit with the second shade you have applied. These steps will complete the eye shadow part of the makeup. The base for the diva look is set. Blend well to avoid any sharp lines and harsh finishing.
  • After you have applied all the neutral eye shadow shades, it’s time to line your upper lash line. Make a thin line with either eyeliner or kajal, whichever you are comfortable with. Eye liner will give you a glossy finish, since the water or gel will be liquid like. A kajal will give you a matte finish. You can decide on the staying power since most eye liners tend to stay longer than kajals and are also more smudge proof. As an option, you can line your lower water line too.
  • Finally curl your lashes, and apply required quotes of mascara. If you want a dramatic look, glue on some false lashes and let your eyes do the talking.

You might be wondering as to why this neutral eye makeup gets so much attention. Let us tell you – eyes are the most important feature of a person’s face. When eyes look dull and tired, even if you aren’t really that tired, it reflects on your whole face. On the other hand, if you can get your eyes to look awake and fresh, your whole face looks bright too.

Lighter colors tend to make us look brighter. Dark colors add a sense of depth and mystery. You can experiment with lighter hues. Also, lining the upper lid can be experimental too. There are various ways to line – winged liner, Arabic, thin flick, wine-house, double flick and more. You can master them all with a little practice.

Keep in mind to use a concealer is dark circles bother you. Select ones that suit your skin tone and apply them, making sure you blend them well. You can also use a primer on your eye lids to make the makeup stay for long.

Finally, always make sure that you remove the eye makeup before you hit the sack. It’s very important to remove all traces of chemicals from the eyes. Use a good makeup remover and after you gently pat dry the areas surrounding the eyes, use a good under eye gel.
