Soft Brown Eye Makeup Tutorial: Easy Steps & Techniques

With the wedding season on, almost everyone is going in for a heavy and really bold and bright eye makeup look these days. While that is surely the case, it is also true that weddings aside, there will be other occasions where you may want to attend and sport some lovely makeup on your eyes. If you are looking at creating some soft and subtle eye looks that look feminine and can easily be created at home, then this eye makeup tutorial will be perfect for you.

In this tutorial we will share a simple and elegant neutral eye makeup look. The look is created using brown and pink shades. This look is perfect for an everyday look or for a special occasion, and can be easily worn on any occasion, whether formal or casual.

Look Breakdown:

For this particular look, I have used shimmery shades. As the makeup is already quite neutral I didn’t want it to be too plain and matte. Using shimmery shades adds that extra touch of glamour and bounce to the look. If you too want to add some brightness to your eyes, go for shimmery shades instead of plain matte ones.

Here goes the breakdown of the complete look:

  • Before you begin, clean your eyes thoroughly. Make sure there is no leftover makeup or dirt on your eyes. Once you have cleaned them, the next step is to prime your eyes.
  • Apply a thick line of chocolate brown shimmery eyeliner pencil on your upper lash line. I have used the Revlon Magic Eyeliner pencil in the shade Flirty Brown. Smudge the line along the middle of the eyelid without touching the crease.
  • Now take a baby pink or any light pink eye shadow and apply it along the crease, blending it a bit with your lid colour. I have used the pink shade from my TBS limited edition A LA Mode palette.
  • Then take a shimmery dark brown eye shadow and blend it on the outer” V”. I have used a dark brown shade from my Lakme Eyeshadow Quartet in the shade Desert Rose.
  • Apply dark brown eyeliner on the lower lash line and waterline. Finish off with brown mascara of your choice. I have used Bourjois Volumizer Mascara in Brun Optimizer.

I have not used any eyeliner as I wanted to keep the look subtle and a tad bright.

The Final Look:

Since we are not going heavy on the makeup, it is recommended that you keep the entire look a bit muted. You can do this by using a nude lipstick or lip gloss and by using a natural blush.

This will help keep the focus on the eyes. Alternatively, you can make this look more dramatic by creating some bold lips and cheeks.
