We generally associate pastels with young teens. But there is no manual that says that some shades are just for the very young! In fact, the runways are always filled with models flaunting their pastel makeup look. Pastel colors are feminine and brings a certain softness to your features. So, if you are bored of wearing the same bright, intense and dramatic eye makeup every day, I have something special for you! Something vibrant and fresh—Yes, I have created this ‘straight off the runway’ look using pastel shades! Now you can look young, fresh, and beautiful with a few strokes of pastel eye colors! This pastel makeup tutorial will help you get this look just right!
Lets have a look at the step wise tutorial of pastel eye makeup look:
Start by moisturizing the delicate eye area. Dot your favorite eye cream under the eye area and use your ring finger to gently blend it into the skin. Then, allow it to get absorbed and after a minute apply a concealer and conceal your dark circles. Use a flat concealer brush or fingers to blend the concealer. Set the creamy concealer with a loose or compact powder to prevent slipping off of the product.
Then, apply a creamy white or a nude colored eye pencil all over your eye lid area. This step will act as a base for the eyeshadows to be applied later. It will help them last longer and also appear vibrant. I picked up a nude eye pencil from Oriflame for this step.
Then, pick a matte white eyeshadow and apply it over the creamy nude base applied to the previous step. It is best to smudge the creamy nude base with your fingers or use a flat brush to soften the kajal and then top it with pastel eye shadow for a smooth and even finish. Elf 144 eyeshadow palette was used for the white eyeshadow.
Then, pick a matte soft pink eyeshadow to the innermost corner of your eyes. Softly pat the eyeshadow for vibrant color pay off. Elf 144 eyeshadow palette was used for the light pink eyeshadow for this step.
Then, pick a matte light aqua blue eyeshadow to the outermost corner of your eyes. Softly pat the eyeshadow for vibrant color pay off. I used the Elf 144 eyeshadow palette for the light aqua blue eyeshadow for this step.
Then, pick a fluffy blending brush to softly blend the matte pink, white and blue eyeshadows applied in the previous steps. Eye makeup looks appear seamless and smokey only if the different eye colors are blended well. I used a blending brush from Vega to softly blend the eyeshadows.
Then, apply the same matte white eyeshadow to the innermost corner and brow bone area of your eyes. Elf 144 eyeshadow palette was used for the matte white eyeshadow. Then, apply a bright yellow eyeshadow in a matte finish to the inner one third and two third area of your lower lash line. Follow it with a matte orange eyeshadow to the outermost corner of your lower lash line of your eyes to create balance and even finish.
Line your eyes with a sharp wing to finish the eye makeup. Apply lots of mascara to create an illusion of thicker eyelashes. L’Oreal Million Lashes Mascara and Kryolan black eyeliner were used to achieve this step. Line your waterline with a cream or white colored eye pencil to add more depth. I picked up a nude eye pencil from Oriflame for this step.
That’s it! Simple, elegant, feminine—I am running out of adjectives here! This is a great look for this season. You can wear it for any day party or on a day out with friends. And this look can rock an evening party too. A versatile look for sure! Try it and be ready to be flooded with compliments!
