Layered Eye Makeup Look:

So, forget the eyeshadows for today, and learn something new on how to layer eyeshadow!

Step 1:

Apply an eye cream to hydrate your eye area. This step will help in keeping control of drier patches, which can arise after concealer application. Then, take a full coverage concealer and conceal dark circles to create a flawless base. Set the concealer with a compact powder to prevent creasing of the product. Let’s begin with the layer eye makeup. Apply a slightly thick eyeliner with a light turquoise blue colored liquid eyeliner. Here, I used the Maybelline hyper glossy liquid liner in Turquoise. You can tweak the color and the finish of the eyeliner according to your preference. Since, I wanted a softer and less dramatic look, I picked 2 liquid eyeliners, which created a soft ombre effect. If you choose a stronger complimentary color like orange and blue, the effect of the stripes created in the eye makeup will be intense and stand out more.

Step 2:

Pick a slightly darker deep blue shade and line another layer of the eye liner over the turquoise eyeliner created in the previous step. Do not drag the eyeliner from one corner of the eye to the other. But, draw short strokes and connect it later for an even finish. If your hands are not stable, it is a great trick to rest the smallest finger on your cheeks for support. Here, I used the Tips and Toes liquid eyeliner in Blue sapphire.

Step 3:

Repeat the same turquoise eyeliner above the dark blue applied in the earlier step. You can stop layering the eyeliner with just 2, 3 or 4 layers depending on your preference. I wanted to create a slightly stronger eye makeup effect, so I alternated the eyeliners twice. That is why I got four layers of eye liners. The most important trick while achieving this eye look, is that it is best to wait for each layer to completely dry before applying the second colored layer. If the pigmentation of the eye liners is not up to your preference, gently reapply the liner once again for an even and vibrant look.

Step 4:

Line a thin layer of black eyeliner to your upper lash line to give a fuller lash effect. Here, I used the Kryolan black eyeliner. As I felt the deep blue was appearing dull, I applied twice for a vibrant look at this step. Then, to balance out the eye makeup, I applied a turquoise kajal to the lower lash line and also lined my waterline with a dark blue kajal. Apply several coats of mascara to complete the makeup look.

Look, no eyeshadow! And yet, the eyes look prettier than ever before. Wasn’t it really simple yet different and unique? Sometimes, beautiful things can be really simple to achieve.
