Vibrant Yellow Eye Makeup Tutorial: A Step-by-Step Guide

We all love to wear browns, greens and blues for eye makeup. But, one color that we never dare to touch is yellow! It is such a bright, vibrant and powerful color─wearing it on the eyes is impossible, right? I am here to prove you wrong! Today, I have created a vibrant yellow eye makeup look which is bright yet wearable.

Bright Yellow Eye Makeup Tutorial:

Let’s paint your eyes yellow!

Step 1:

Start by moisturizing your delicate eye area to prepare the skin for eye makeup. Pick a hydrating eye cream and softly pat it into the skin. Apply concealer with your fingers or a flat concealer brush and conceal your dark circles. If you have deep pigmentation under your eyes, it is best to use a corrector prior to the application of concealer. Then, use a loose compact powder and set your concealer to prevent smudging of the products applied earlier.

Take a soft creamy nude eye pencil and apply it all over your eyelid area. This step requires the eyeshadow to be applied on top of it to provide it a brighter and pop out look. Here, I used the Oriflame eye pencil in nude.

Step 2:

Choose a matte light brown eyeshadow and start applying it to the crease socket of the eyes. This color will act as a transition between the darker colors to be applied later . It will offer a stronger crease area. I picked up a matte brown eyeshadow from the Elf 144 eyeshadow palette for this step.

Step 3:

Take a deep dark brown eyeshadow in matte finish and start applying it to the crease area of the eyes. This color will add further depth and give an illusion of deeper set eyes. A matte dark brown eyeshadow from the Elf 144 eyeshadow palette was used for this step.

Step 4:

Then, pick a bright yellow eyeshadow and apply it on your eyelid area. This eyeshadow is to be placed just above the nude eye pencil applied in the first step. Start by blending the eye pencil applied on the first step with your fingers or an eyeshadow brush to get an even base for the eyeshadow and then top the bright yellow eyeshadow over it. A bright yellow eyeshadow from the Elf 144 eyeshadow palette was used to achieve this step.

Step 5:

Pick a matte black eyeshadow and apply it only to the outer v of your eyes to give depth to the eye makeup. Here, I used a matte black eyeshadow from the Oriflame Marcel makeup palette.

Step 6:

Then, take a fluffy blending brush and blend all the eyeshadows applied for a seamless and even smokey finish. It is important for the different eyeshadows, such as the medium brown, dark brown, black and yellow to blend and look smokey. So, imitate a wind shield motion and softly remove all the harsh edges in the eye makeup. Apply the bright yellow to the innermost corner and the one third of your lower lash line. Apply a matte black eyeshadow to the rest of your lower lash line to create balance in the eye makeup. Apply soft shimmery highlighter shade to the brow bone. I used the Revlon shadow links eyeshadow in the shade sand for this step.

Step 7:

Line your eyes thinly or thickly according to your preference. I created a dramatic winged eye liner by extending the upper lash line outwards. Then apply mascara to finish the eye makeup look. Here, I used the Kryolan eye liner and Loreal Million Lashes Mascara for the perfect look.

And we are done! Granted, this look is not for the faint hearted, but with a little yellow summer frock? Well, this eye makeup will surely rock! It is surely worth a try, right?
