The nights are dark, sensuous and mystery filled. It is the time where silence plays a major role! Today, I have created a gorgeous eye makeup inspired by night—midnight, when the world goes to sleep and party animals wake up! The eye makeup is sexy and intense, so it is perfect for evenings, night outs and parties. So, here’s a step by step tutorial on how to turn your eyes into a canvas of creativity!
Let’s get creative with this mysterious Midnight Eye Makeup!
Start by moisturizing your delicate eye area to prepare the skin for the eye makeup. Pick an eye cream and dot it under your eye area and softly pat it into the skin. Then, take a concealer with your fingers or a flat concealer brush and conceal your dark circles. If you have deep pigmentation under your eyes, it is best to use a corrector prior to the application of the concealer. Then, use a loose compact powder and set your concealer to prevent smudging or creasing of the products applied earlier.
Take a soft, creamy black eye pencil and apply it to your outer two thirds of the eyelid area. This step will allow the eyeshadow that we will apply later appear brighter and pop out more. I used the Oriflame eye pencil in black to get a smooth finish. As we would want to create a dramatic eye look, I have stuck a cello tape at the outer v of the eye to act as a guideline in eye makeup and also to create a nice sharp wing.
Then, take a smudge brush or a pencil brush to softly smudge the kajal applied on the previous step. Blend the edges of the kajal softly to create a smokey base for the eyeshadow to be applied in the next step.
Now here comes the eyeshadows! Pick a matte dark purple eyeshadow and apply it to the outer thirds of the eye area. Softly blend the eyeshadow with the smudged kohl to create a smokey effect. For the perfect look I used a matte dark purple eyeshadow from the Elf 144 eyeshadow palette.
Now is the time to pick a shimmery grey eyeshadow and apply it on the eyelid area. This eyeshadow is to be placed just above the black eye pencil applied in the first step. Pat the eyeshadow softly all over the eye lid with a flat eyeshadow brush. I used a shimmery grey eyeshadow from the Elf 144 eyeshadow palette for this step.
Take a matte black eyeshadow and start applying it to the outermost corner and the outer v area of the eyes. This color will add dimension and give an illusion of deep set eyes. Black eyeshadows are tough to carry, but night is black right? So, I used a matte black eyeshadow from the Elf 144 eyeshadow palette to get the right effect.
Then, apply a shimmery white eyeshadow to the innermost corner of your eyes to highlight and brighten the eye makeup. Here, I have used a shimmery white eyeshadow from the Elf 144 eyeshadow palette. Then, pick a soft cream eyeshadow and apply it to the brow bone area of your eyes. For this step, I used a matte cream eyeshadow from Oriflame. Line your eyes thickly or thinly according to your preference. Remove the midnight eyeshadow remnants on your under eye area and conceal it once again with a concealer to lift the eye makeup. Set it with powder to prevent smudging. Apply lots of mascara to complete the eye makeup look. Here, I used the Kryolan eye liner and Loreal Million Lashes Mascara for this step. And we are done!
Yes, this look requires the use of a number of colors, but the end result is worth the effort, right? Nothing too gaudy, just elegance—the right look for an evening out! So, embrace the beauty of the night!
