QuestionHello,
I was reading the back of a New Curve's cereal, and it showed 41 carbs, 6 diet fiber and then 32 Other carbs.. My question is, do you subtract the "other carbs" from the 41? like sugar alcohol or do you add it? i am trying to figure out what is "other carbs"?
AnswerHi Cindy, All carbs become sugars when digested by the body. So those "other carbs" are the ones that are easily turned into sugar and if eaten in excess can be easily stored as fat. The fiber carbs are still carbs, but because they are made from some fiber source like a whole grain, they are slowly digested. Slowly digested carbs are less apt to be stored as fat.
