Yogurt: Unique Properties, Ingredients & Taste

Question
What does Yogurt have that milk and cheese don't, and what is it made of? I have always hated it.

Answer
Yogurt is a cultured dairy product that contains bacteria. That's what makes it taste bad (to some people).
You will probably find a similar taste in buttermilk (also cultured) and in some cheeses.
Recently I have discovered that I find soy yogurts not to have that bitter taste. That's just a personal observation, but I suspect others have found that as well.

If you enjoy cheeses and milk, you are getting a fine source of calcium, riboflavin and protein in your diet, and you need never consume yogurt if you just don't like it!
