Questionhi can you help or advice me what to do please?what it is i am under fertility clinic at the moment in my area,but nothing has happend yet,my nurse whats me to loose a little bit of weight and then she might be putting me on the clomid tablet.because we have been ttc but no joy yet i already have a 6 year old son already,but what is going on now is my periods if thats what they are,are all over the place,i.e i had a period on the 30/12/08 lasted 7-12 days very heavy and painfull with alot off clotting then soon after on the 21/1/09 i started again another period the same heavy/clotting/painful but still today i am bledding then spotting,its like last night yesterday i was very faintly spotting so me and my husband had intercourse and now today i am bleeding again,with minor pain,so please if you could advice me?previous bit off history i have to have regular smears every year because i had c.i.n3,the stage before cancer around 3 years ago.so thanks for your time.amanda

It is apparent to me that you have an ovarian dysfunction. The most common type is called PCOS (polycystic ovarian syndrome). Your nurse wants you to lose weight because many PCOS patients will start ovulating properly if they get their weight down closer to the ideal weight. In any case, to get you ovulating and get your cycles regular, you need to have fertility treatment with a medication like clomid, Femara or injectables. Your fertility doc should be doing this if he/she is a good doc. I would recommend that you look through the letters that have been submitted through this site. I have responded to many many people with this problem and it will give you lots of insight.
