QuestionHi i am interested in learning jewelry design ..where did u train and do u have any suggestons as to what schools to go? Online schools are they any good? I would like to go somwhere near where i live in PA (if possible)Thanks for the help.

AnswerHello Diane,
I trained under a German Master in Adelaide Australia.
This was in 1982. I had a fabulous education covering all aspects of Jewellery making, metalsmithing, drawing and design.
I beleive that the larger you knowledge base, the better you can design.
There are many community colleges in the US, and I think would be a good place to start.
Once you have scratched the surface, then you will have a better idea of what is possible.
PA, Philadelphia? I cant help you there. I hear RISDEE is fab.......but first check your local schools and take it form there.
Online? I wouldn't consider this until I had some experience as Jewellery is very hands on....a bit like learning to drive a manual, but with more aspects.
