Identifying Vintage Gold-Toned Brooches: ART (c) & 1-20K GF A.O.
QuestionI have two items inherited from my mother-in-law and her mother - both should be over 30 years old. Both are gold toned brooches. One is in the shape of two large flowers (2 petals), painted black and white - on the back is the marking: ART (c). The other is a small gold round brooch of leaves - on the back is 1-20 K GF A.O. I know part of it is 1/20th Karat Gold Filled - what I don't know is the A.O. All of that is on a raised circle - the A.O. is separate from the other info and at the bottom of the circle by itself.
I appreciate any help you can provide.
Thanks
Sandy
AnswerHello Sandy and thank you for your inquiry. Your brooch marked Art can be researched at the following URL:

Just copy and paste the url into your browser address field and hit enter. Art was a costume jewelry designer house. I have not been able to find a manufacturer with the initials A.O. There were many jewelry companies that used a particular hallmark or logo, but didn't register it making it difficult to find out any information. If I locate anything I will add a followup. Thank you and good luck.
