QuestionHello! My fiancee and I are hoping to hold a destination wedding in Barbados. What is the best time of the year for a wedding there? Can you also let me know the average flight prices from LAX, Toronto, MAR and CCS to Barbados?
Thanks,
Veronica
AnswerHi Veronica:
Sorry for the delay in answering your question, but it has been an incredibly busy week filled with clients and events with little time for anything else!
Hurricane Season in the Atlantic region, of which Barbados is a part, runs from June 1st to November 30th. While there is no guarantee that you won't get rain or a smaller tropical storm during other times of the year, you shouldn't have to worry about hurricanes if you marry from December to May.
As for airfare, I do not have time to do an exhaustive research but I can tell you that it is best to purchase package deals from sites such as Expedia.com, Sunrider.com, or Orbitz.com. Doing so gives you the best prices on air and hotel when booked together. Currently on Sunrider.com, packages flying out of LAX range from $1500 to $3500 depending on the location on Barbados (ie: Christ's Church or St. James)and hotel rating. Of course the time of year and how far in advance you book will have a factor on these prices as well.
Destination weddings are always a wonderful way to celebrate. If you have the funds, I highly suggest hiring a wedding planner that can assist you in the details as these types of weddings are much more difficult to plan. I speak from experience having coordinated them for clients in the past!
I hope this helps. Should you have any further questions, please feel free to contact me again.
Happy planning,
