QuestionWhat would cause you to start gaining a lot of weight fast? I'm about 5'2-5'3, a few months ago I weighed 115, now I weigh 130. Last WEEK I weighed 124. I gained 6 pounds in 1 week. I'm not eating any differently.

I'm going to be totally honest with you and say that I've never experienced any body who has put on that amount of weight while maintaining the same eating habits.
The only things I can come up with are:
1. Hormonal changes..maybe it has something to do with your period, thyroid. This could effect the way your body metabolises food.
2. Water retention. If your not drinking enough water, your body will compensate and store water as a survival mechanism. On one of my newsletters I've got a water equation. Go to www.xfitness.com.au and signup and look at previous issues.
3. If you are taking any prescription medication or even if you are really stressed out the body will release a lot of cortisol which makes your body store fat.
4. Approaching menapause. I don't know your age but this could be a factor. Your body stops producing estrogen so sometimes women can tend to hold on to fat more readily.
5. Calories in versus calories out. Maybe you've cut down on your exercise or were as active this week.
