Vaginitis: Causes, Treatment, and Prevention
QuestionI've had this before , hence the reason I know what it is. Do you know of an easier way to get rid of it or besides flagel or other meds. also, any clues on prevention?
Thanks

AnswerYou did not mention what type of vaginosis you have. Was it monilial vaginosis (yeast infection), bacterial vaginosis, or Trichomonal vaginosis. If it is due to a yeast infection, the treatment of choice is Diflucan 150mg once. If it is bacterial vaginosis or trichomonal vaginosis, Flagyl is the drug of choice (500mg twice a day for 10 days). There are also "non-specific" vaginoses, that can be treated with different creams. Prevention of bacterial vaginosis can be to avid wiping front to back after using the bathroom, and good genital hygiene.
