PUPPP Rash After Delivery: Causes, Symptoms & What to Expect

Question
Age 27, 2 children, December 21, 2003

I had a extremely bad case of PUPPPs the last three weeks of my pregnancy - so bad they decided to induce 2 weeks before my due date.  Now, 7 weeks after delivery, the rash seems to be coming back, almost as bad as before.  Is this normal?

Answer
Usually PUPP usually disappears shortly after the delivery of the baby. If it appears that you are, again, developing a rash, it can't be PUPP (because you are no longer pregnant) but it certainly can be a new rash. I would suggest that you see a dermatologist and start some steroid cream to stop the rash. Now that you are no longer pregnant, there are more options as far as treatment is concerned.
