Postpartum Period Irregularities: Causes & What to Expect

Question
I recently delivered my first chil.  She is now almost 10 weeks old.  I bled consistently for about 2 weeks post-delivery.  The bleeding stopped for a week or two, and then my first actual period began.  It lasted three weeks.  It ended on the 21 of last month.  I began taking birth control 3 weeks postpartum.  My husband I only had sex once before the birth control would take effect, and we did use a condom.  However, the condom may have been too small.  Anyway it is now the 14th, and I still haven't started my period.  Am I actually late?  I don't know how to count my cycle since my last period was so long?  I really do not want to have a baby right now.  I want time to enjoy my first one.  Would it be immoral to have an abortion, if I were pregnant?  What do I do?  I am very scared.

Answer
It would only be immoral to have an abortion if you didnt feel  comfortable with it.  Abortion is up to the women and no one else.  The weird periods are totally normal after a pregnancy.  Your body is trying to get back into the swing of things.  You went through 9 months of mixed hormones and stuff so it has to return to normal.  Take a pregnancy test if you are still worried in a couple of weeks.  I wish you the best in whatever happens.
