Possible Pregnancy After Unprotected Sex While on Birth Control: Symptoms & Concerns

Question
I am 26 with no children. My last period started Sept. 17. I have
been on the pill for two months and usually take it between 8pm
and 2am (the insert says it is efficient if taken within a 12 hr.
range); it's Dixi-35. I had sex on the 19th and began the next
set of pills on the 20th. On the 25th I started getting panck
attacks with the thought of a possible pregnancy. My partner
was not wearing a condom but finished outside of me. Since the
25th I have been having lower abdomen cramps. I have no other
symptoms aside from the panic attacks, depression and general
fear (I am a very nervous person and react like this in any
stressful situation) of an unwanted pregnancy. Prior to that, we had sex
Sept. 11, 15 and 19th What are the possibilities of that? Is it possible
my period was not a period in fact?

Answer
If you have been on the pill (without missing any) for two months, it is highly unlikely that you could have concieved. If y8ou were not taking pills, and your last period started on September 17, you would have ovulated on September 30 and could have conceived only if you had sex on September 29,30, October 1 or 2. YOu could not have conceived on September 19 because you could not have ovulated by then. The best time to take a pregnancy test is seven days after missing your next period. You were due for your period on October 14, so now is a good time to take a regnancy test. If it is negative at this time, you are definitely not pregnant.
