AnswerDear Jeromeka,
I'm sorry to hear you are feeling so sick. It is quite normal in pregnancy. Sometimes ginger ale or ginger candies help pregnant woment to have less of the symptoms you describe. According to a recent study in Obstetrics and Gynecology, you need to consume one gram a day of ginger for four days to calm nausea and vomiting. To meet the daily requirements, as well as get plenty of folic acid and calcium, whip up this delicious drink:
1 1/2 inch piece of gengerroot, peeled and finely chopped
1banana
1 navel orange, peeled, pitted and trimmed
2 tablespoons frozen orange-juice ocncentrate
1cup nonfat vanilla yogurt
3 ice cubes
In a blender, puree the first five ingredients. Then, while still blending, add the ice cubes one at a time until mixture is smooth. Makes two servings.
I hope it helps!
Happy Holidays!
Anna
