AnswerYou could be dealing with any number of postpartum issues, such as dynamic instability in the lower spine or pelvis, disc problems associated with compression or alignment problems, or associated spine issues. Because your pain increases at night, this suggests that your problem is related to your basic movement patterns, and how your support (or don't support) your spine.
Get a referral to a PT or Chiropractor who specializes in postpartum problems who can accurately diagnose your problem and give the appropriate treatment.
Consider starting a postnatal exercise program that focuses on core strength and stability such as my DVD "Bounce Back Fast! Post Natal Core Conditioning." Your baby is only going to get heavier, and you'll need more core strength to be able to prevent further problems.
