Postpartum Health Concerns: Heavy Bleeding & Eclampsia Recovery
QuestionHi doc, got a couple of questions. I am 20 years old and I had a baby exactly 1 year ago. After having her I was hospitalized with eclampsia and high blood pressure that led to a seizure which caused my brain to swell. I never received a post-cat scan to see if the swelling went down but I did get better. I didn't get milk and didn't get my period until 6 months after I had my baby. Every period since then has been heavier than pre-pregnancy and very full of clots, no cramping. I spot pretty much every day now and have a mucus-like discharge. I guess my question is does this sound like something serious and do you think it is something preventing me from getting pregnant? Also, this may not have anything to do with this or you, but I get an ear fullness and sometimes it feels like my head is too heavy to hold up.
Any info will help. Thanks for your time!

AnswerHi Meaghan,
You may have an STI, or if you are taking birth control it could be that. Sometimes women bleed non stop after pregnancy without any cause, unfortunately. Visit your doctor for tests. Also you will need to see a neurologist as that is out of my expertise. Good luck!
