Subchorionic Hematoma: Understanding Growth & Potential Risks
QuestionHi i was recently diagnosed with a subchoronic haematoma at 12 weeks due to me having and early scan with me bleeding, the haematoma measured 38mm on the first reading then i had another bleed and it went down to 20mm im not 14 weeks and i went for another scan a few days ago and the sonographer said the baby was very active but the haematomab had increased to 40mmx15mm is this serious? am i going to loose my baby?
AnswerDear Karri
Although an increasing size of the hematoma is not a good sign, it does not mean you are going to lose your baby. In fact it means you need more rest (bed rest) with avoidance of household activities, sex, sports and similar activiteis. Most of these hematomashematomas resolve within a week or two if these instructions are followed.
Good Luck
