QuestionHello ive had a scan and it makes me 12weeks the scans go by gestation age so when did i concieve? would it of been 12weeks and 2days ago?
AnswerDear Jade,
Scans go by gestational age but generally when they say 12 weeks they mean from your last period, not from when you conceived. So if they told you 12 weeks, it means you conceived about 10 weeks ago, give or take two or three days. If you think you conceived before that, talk to your midwife or doctor. Also, double check what they mean when they say 12 weeks, just in case your doctor only counts from conception and not your period (which is unusual). Any time I discuss scans it is always dated from your period, not from conception.
Best of luck, and feel free to resend this question with more details for clarification,
Sheva
