Understanding Elevated ALT Levels: What Does a Result of 43 Mean?

I have a level of 43 on my alt(sgpt) is this something that i should be concerned with pls help not sure?

Hi Kem, I'd be glad to try and answer your question.  An ALT result of 43 is not a bad result.  The normal range is approximately 13-39, so 43is only slightly high.  Some medicines can cause a falsely elevated ALT.  If liver disease were present, I'd expect the ALT is be higher than your result of 43.  I wouldn't be too concerned, as long as you're feeling good and your doctor isn't concerned.
