Understanding RBCs and Epithelial Cells in Urine Test Results
Questionwhat dose this mean... epithelial cells- non renal >10 RBC=10 can you hep........ please also many bacteria
AnswerHi Lynn. I'd be glad to try and answer your question. I assume that the test results you gave me were in your urine sample. Epithelial cells (non-renal) are basically just skin cells and will be found in mostly any urine sample. So they're normal. RBC stands for Red Blood Cells. Urine that has blood in it (10 is a small amount, I believe) along with many bacteria means probably that you have a UTI (Urinary Tract Infection). Check with your doctor, you most likely need to take an antibiotic. After you're finished taking the medicine, your doctor may want to test another urine sample to make sure it's OK.
