Progesterone Levels & IUI Success: What You Need to Know

Is it possible to have a succesful pregnancy with a progesterone level of 13.7 seven days after an IUI?  I feel like so much of the vaginal suppositories leak out, is it the same for all women, does enough medication get absorbed?

Hello Rosanna,

Yes, it is possible to have a successful pregnancy at that level.  Not to worry.  You must be using a pharmacy made suppository, which is usually made in a wax, and that is what is leaking out.  You don't need to worry because the progesterone is readily absorbed through the vagina.  If that leakage is bothersome, you might want to ask your doctor to prescribe either Crinone, Prochieve or Endometrin.
