QuestionDear Dr. Ramierez,
I am writing to you from Arizona!
The question I have for you is if you have heard that taking 100mg of B-6 along with Red Raspberry and/or Chasteberry is something that will help fix LPD.
My Dr had me on Progesterone days 16-28 because I was not ovulating and wanted to use that to help me have a period very month and try to get my body back to working on its own. She also has me on Metformin that I have been taking since Feb 2009. While I was taking the Progesterone for three months. The first month seemed fine. The second month I actually had another period (14 days after having a period) and Dr says it could have been miscarriage but I am not convinced. The third and last month I took it I once again had REALLY heavy spotting on day 14...this is the time I decided to stop taking it but continue the Metformin because I didn't find that to be normal. With me doing that I ended up having a Natural period 28 days later! Knowing I had a natural period I decided to go back to Temping and saw I ovulated on day 18. Yesterday was day 27 and I started spotting in the early PM and this morning I had Temp drop. (Day 28)
I do not want to go back on the Progesterone ,and want to try to help extend me Luteal phase another way so my husband and I can finally be blessed with a lil one.
Any help and advice is greatly appreciated!
Thank you for taking the time to help everyone!

Dr. Ramirez
Hello,
I do not know of any benefit to taking the B6 etc.
It sounds like you have some type of hormonal dysfunction, and your doctor is not treating you correctly. Usually the hormonal dysfunction is due to a dysfunction of the ovaries, where the hormones are produced. I am not sure why she would have put you on Metformin unless you have elevated insulin levels.
It also sound like you are NOT seeing the correct doctor. I would suggest that you see a reproductive specialist so that you can get the correct treatments. You may need to go on some type of fertility medication to get your ovaries to work properly.
