Tinnitus: Understanding Ringing Ears and Potential Hearing Loss
QuestionDear Dr. Aukerman,
My ears ring a lot because of my hair cells dying episodically. Is this bad? Someone told me that too much of this will lead to loss of hearing when I get old. Is this true?
AnswerIt is normal aging unless yours is more, then it could lead to some hearing loss as you get older. Some cases are related to a cross-allergenicity to milk and dairy foods. Stay off dairy and take a multivitamin and a high potency B complex vitamin for 2 months to see if the ringing decreases if OK with your doctor. OK?
