Answer1) most small ER's in South Carolina require only a permanent license, sometimes ACLS
2) average day.... there is no such thing, but most people have normal easy non-emergent problems, but don't have a regular MD, usually due to money.
3) pay was $28 in 1987, and typically is $100/hr in the small ER's now.
4) responsib-anything that comes thru the door in the ER, sometimes we help the physicians with stuff on the floor, but, at night, we are the only docs in the hospital.
5) good stuff.... being able to help people
6) bad stuff, deaths, people who were belligerant, drunk, unappreciative.
7) 4 years college, 4 years med school, 3 years residency training after med school
8) med school requires college as a pre-requisite, then 4 years of med school.
