Burning Pain After Urination in Boys: Causes & Relief

Question
Hi!

I have an 11 year old son that seems to have a problem.  Every now and then he gets an intense burning pain in his penis after urination.  Sometimes it lasts about 15 minutes to a half an hour.  Tonight he was crying and in great distress and I didn't know what to do but tell him to take a Tylenol.  I had him to the doctor more then once thinking that it was an infection. The last time was in April and the doctor said that its probably some kind of spasm or a little bit of sandy-like urine.  He said I could take him to a urologist if I wanted.  What do you think?  I pity my child but I don't know what to do for him.  Now it seems to have passed over and he is fine.  He goes to the bathroom all the time, it's not like he holds it too long.  He kind of has a head thing about it. Like he'll go often just because he's thinking about it especially before we go out the door to go away or just before bedtime.  He wet the bed till we used one of those beeper thingies when he was about five or six.  I think that's what brought that on.  Anyhow, if you have any thoughts on this, I'd appreciate hearing them.  Thank you!

Answer
He said I could take him to a urologist if I wanted. What do you think? Yes, most definitely since he is low on B complex and magnesium oxide which he needs twice a day to prevent these stones and Omega 3 2000mg twice a day for the bedwetting.
