QuestionHav taken this drug since aout early teens.
Two recent blood tests have shown level to be above normal range. not sure how measured in Canada but rare 96 where as 80 is highest number in the normal range. I previously reduced amount from 400 to 350 a day a couple of years ago when I had substantial weight loss after gall bladder surgery.
Readings have been okay until just now. Advised to reduced to 300 for a month anyway.
What are the effects of dilantin the abiove range level? I notice lately a bit of a balance problem at times but as I will be 70 in a few monts I had took at normal process of aging. Also more periods of constipation with my diverticulosos.
Answeroverdose (over the upper limit) ours is 20 ng/ml... mostly sedation, off balance.... some people are fine when they are a little above "normal" you were mildly above nl (10% or so) but the effects don't increase past the upper limit of nl, but the side effects do....
I don't see that it will affect constipation though
