It doesn't change over time and it is a reflection of your body's iron stores.... if it is in the normal range and your CBC (Hb and Hct) are normal, then that is the end of it. If it is really really high, then you have to worry about hemachromatosis.... an excessive iron storage disease. I hope this helps
