HCG and B12 for Weight Loss: Risks, Regulations, and Alternatives

Been hearing about HCG w/b12 shots given to assist in weightloss--   there are Weightloss clinics in US that do this---  though supposedly not legal --what is your understanding of this topic.  Any alternatives?

While I don't know much about this regiment for Wt. loss, I do know that HCG and B12 injections are an "off label" use for these medications and NOT FDA approved for this use.  While their use is not necessarily illegal, the clinics and/ or practitioners that offer this may be operating illegally.

Would stick with more mainstream clinically proven ways to lose weight and stay away from unproven and oftentimes dangerous methods.  Read my article on my blog "Forget those Crystals" for my position of some alternative practitioners.  Acupuncture and other "solid CAM" alternatives are a better bet.
