Vicodin Use: Potential Dependence & Safe Discontinuation

I have been taking 1 vicodin a day for about 6 mths am I addicted  and if so can I get through going off them with out any other meds please help and be honest

Dear Sarah,

I cannot see how you are addicted if you are taking only one Vicodin a month.

I can see, if you are taking it at bedtime, that your sleep may be harder to come if you stop.  But, that in no way means you are addicted.

Please, before starting or stopping any medication, please contact your physician.

Since Vicodin is usually an every 4-6 hour medication, rest assured that one daily does not make an addiction.
