Question -
I am trying to add more fish into my families diet.  Are all fish equal nutritional, or are some better than another?  I already know that frying fish is not a healthy way to prepare it. I would appreciate any information.
Thanks,
Paula

Answer -
Hello Paula!

The best fish, particularly fatty, cold water fish such as salmon, mackerel and herring are high in omega-3 fatty acids, a type of fat that helps make your blood less likely to form clots that may cause heart attacks. Anchovies, sardines and lake trout are other good sources of omega-3 fatty acids. Especially for those at risk of heart disease, the benefit of eating fish that's rich in omega-3 fatty acids outweighs potential risks.

Thanks for your quick response.  Do you know of a website that I can go to that has list of fish and if they are high in omega 3 fatty acid? We enjoy Walleye fish but don't know if it is high in omega 3. Thanks, Paula

Answer
Dear Paula,

The following website gives a complete list of fish high in omega 3 fatty acids. Unfortunately walleye is one of the fish.  Check out these links:  http://www.med.umich.edu/umim/clinical/pyramid/fish.htm
