Hematoma Aftermath: Understanding Lumps and Tissue Changes

Hi!
Two weeks ago i fell down the stairs, and hurt my leg.I didn't go to the doctor and didn't take any medicine. I had i pretty large hematoma, about 10 cm in diameter. It started to clear up, started from the middle to the outside . Now it is almost cleared up, but in the middle, where it started to clear up first, on touch i can feel under the skin a round shape hard tissue that hurts on touch,is a little red and warm on touch but it is not elevated above the skin.Is that normal or should i go check it out? I am worried that could be some infection developing. Thanks!

that is probably a bit of blood that has hardened... if the skin is intact, there shouldn't be an infection.  Sometimes that lump may not resolve, sometimes you are left with a fluid collection that can be drained.... it may take 2-3 months sometimes....
