Understanding Hep C & Protecting Your Family: A Health & Safety Guide

A relative has Hep C and has never been treated for it. Such person is lifelong alcoholic. Discussed why no treatment and got some jibberish which made no sence but boiled down to 'I don't feel sick from it'. This person wants to visit me and I am afraid  healthwise to have them in my house for the safety of my children and my husband and myself. Is this a concern I should be worried about? Thank you.

Whether to treat is a long complicated subject... but not being sick is an ignorant answer, that unfortunately, is pretty common.

You don't have to worry healthwise... It is really hard to get Hep C from someone... even with sex contact, it isn't easy.  The majority of Hep C is from IV drug abuse, old blood transfusions and snorting cocaine (passing straws)
