Weight Loss Nausea: Causes, Solutions & When to See a Doctor

Question
Dr
I am 55.
I have thought about testosterone, but I have a more pressing question.
After about a week on a low calorie, low fat diet, with exercise, my body is finally beginning to give up some fat.
The problem is I am now feeling a bit nauseous, especially if I start exercising-so I have to stop.
I dont think its a cold or flu-I had my shot.
The only other time I felt this way was when I had food poisoning.
Is it my liver reacting to giving up fat stores maybe? I dont think its my blood sugar and I dont have any other issues.
Thanks for your thoughts.

Answer
Hi Barry. I do not know why you have nausea and are loosing weight. But quite honestly it does not sound right to me and it may have nothing to do with your dieting. You need a fasting blood glucose done to rule out diabetes and you are probably going to need a gastroscopy with biopsy to make sure everything is OK in there. Give it another day or two if you like but this does not sound right.
