Swollen Lymph Node Under Jaw: Causes, Symptoms & When to See a Doctor
QuestionI noticed a lymph node under my jaw on my left side a couple months ago when i had a cold/sore throat. According to an illustration, I think it's in the submandibular region. Anyway, it was a little swollen (size of a small pea) and since has decreased but I can still feel it. I'm a little concerned since I don't feel anything on the other side. I can only feel it when I press pretty deep, I have to kinda dig around to find it. Im not sure how to describe the size, maybe 1/4 of a small pea. It's tough to tell cause when I push on it, it moves. I can move it around and it doesn't hurt. Shouldn't it of completely disappeared by now? Should I be concerned and have it evaluated?
Thank you
AnswerNext routine visit, you should mention it, but we have a lot of lymph nodes in that area and they respond to colds/URI's, bad teeth, tooth brushing, etc..... it isn't unusual to have one persist and if there aren't several in that area or it is enlarging, then it isn't a big concern........ watch it and mention next visit.....
