Boxing & Eardrum Healing: Can Bag Work After a Rupture?

Hi,

I busted my eardrum in a boxing match about a month ago. It still hasn't healed, so I want to be extra careful from now on. Will hitting a sand bag while training damage the patch that's in my ear and effect the healing process? Will the jolts going through my body be that great?

so, saying there is a patch implies you had a surgical repair.....  I don't think practicing boxing will hurt it more but getting hit will, so until healed, I don't think I would be doing any sparring.     If you smoke, stop.... that definitely hurts healing.
