QuestionHi Angie,
I had a laparotomy last year to remove a large endometriosis cyst attached to my ovary and abdominal wall. I am now just over 3 months pregnant and have just been informed that a 6 cm cyst has re-developed on my ovary. My doctor had said that if they needed to operate they would do so in my 28th week. I have an ultrasound scheduled in 2 weeks and an appointment with my OB in my 19th week but am worried about "normal pain" as this is my first pregnancy and I'm really not familiar with what is "normal". Is there anything I should be on the look-out for?
If you have any information on surgery during pregnancy or risk with endo during pregnancy I would really appreciate some insight.
Sincerely ,
Sarah
AnswerHi Sarah,
This is a hard question for me to answer since I have never been able to have children. I have been pregnant a few times but have never been able to carry to term.
There is another lady that is an expert on Endometriosis and I do believe she has been pregnant and could give you some better advice than I.
I can tell you that you know your body better than anyone else does. If something feels different or you are worried have things checked out. There is no greater cost then the child you are carrying.
Please take your question to Martha (I think that is her name), I am sure she will be of better assistance to you.
The best of luck with your pregnancy.
Sincerely,
Angie
